A small studio for letter writers
We started in a Seoul apartment with a box of old letters and a stubborn belief that a note written by hand is worth more than any message that disappears with a swipe.
Our story
Stationery Shop began at a market stall in Seongsu-dong in the spring of 2021. We had a stack of letterpress cards printed on cotton paper, a folding table, and no real plan beyond sharing the pleasure of writing something down by hand. By the end of that first weekend the cards were gone, and we realised other people missed it too — the weight of good paper, the drag of a nib, the small ceremony of sealing an envelope.
Everything we carry is chosen the same way today. We work directly with a small circle of makers — a family paper mill that still presses cotton sheets by hand, a letterpress printer running century-old platen presses, a pen workshop that tunes every nib before it ships — and we test each product on our own desks before it reaches the shelf. If it doesn't feel good to write with, it doesn't make the cut.
We believe a few well-made things beat a drawer full of throwaways. One notebook you actually fill, one pen you reach for every day, one card someone keeps for years — that is worth more than a pile of stationery you never quite loved. That is the quiet idea behind the whole collection, and it's the invitation we extend to you: write more, and write it on something good.

Kind to the planet
Acid-free cotton and responsibly sourced pulp, refillable pens over disposables, and plastic-free wrapping. We'd rather sell you one pen you keep for a decade than ten that end up in a drawer.
Made to be written on
Nothing here is too precious to use. This is paper for grocery lists and love letters alike — for scribbles, for thank-yous, for the note you tuck into someone's bag on an ordinary morning.
